As with most custom products, there is a high level of craftsmanship required to create a one-of-a-kind countertop installation. To that end, homeowners should seek out and use an ISSFA fabricator. ISSFA members have access to world-class training and state-of-the-art fabrication and management techniques and fabricator learning peers groups not easily available to non-members.

Through their association membership, ISSFA fabricators have invested in the countertop industry, helping to establish standards for quality and ethical business practices.

Using an ISSFA craftsman is your best assurance of quality, reliability and professional attention to detail, as their have been screened by their industry’s only governing body.

“We encourage consumers to use their ISSFA fabricator as a resource,” says Robert Oxley, executive director of ISSFA. “Go to his shop, browse the showroom, see how the countertop is crafted, ask his opinion on material choices, accessories and custom options. He is familiar with the characteristics of the many products available and can recommend the best material for any situation.”

ISSFA Fabricator Code of Ethics
Bill Wolle

Each Fabricator Member of the International Solid Surface Fabricators Association agrees to observe high standards of honesty, integrity, and responsibility in the conduct of their business.

The code of ethics they sign certifies that they will honor it's structure and rules. They must abide by them for as long as they hold an active membership. The code of ethics states that a fabricator must:

• Adhere strictly to the highest quality standards of fabrication and installation and promote only those products and services that are proven quality and value.

• Write contracts and warranties that are clear, honest, and fair to all parties involved and honor all contractual obligations in a reasonably prompt manner.

• Quickly act on and attempt to resolve all customer complaints, and in situations where complaints appear unreasonable and persistent, encourage the customer to initiate and approach third party dispute settlement mechanisms.

• Be fiscally responsible, honor all legitimate financial obligations and maintain all required licenses and insurance.
