DuPont Surfaces Announces Largest Color Launch in Company History;

Features Aesthetic that Stirs the Imagination, Accentuates Style

DuPont™ Corian® and DuPont™ Zodiaq® Introductions Foster Innovative, Expressive Design

NEW YORK, May 19-22, 2007 – As part of the largest multi-surface color launch in company history, DuPont Surfaces is showcasing 13 spectacular introductions of DuPont™ Corian® and a DuPont™ Zodiaq® collection that includes nine brilliantly marbled quartz colors.

“We want to empower architects and designers to create environments that people will obsess over, dream about and even escape to,” said Alexa Dembek, DuPont Surfaces North American marketing manager.

DuPont™ Corian®

To mark the 40th anniversary of Corian®, its new aesthetic conveys the heritage and elegance of American luxury and is grounded in the textures that make up classic American life.  A sense of movement is created through tonal veins and particles that reflect organic imagery of seashells, sand dunes and farmer’s markets.  The colors represent a range of sun-kissed yellows, silky blues rustic stones and shoreline grays.

“The overall effect is surfacing that will help architects and designers create balance in their environments, as well as enable them to craft, shape and create anything imaginable – from decorative objets d’art to high-performing, multi-sensory commercial spaces,” said Ginguei Ebnesajjad, DuPont Surfaces director of product styling and development.

DuPont™ Zodiaq®

The DuPont™ Zodiaq®-OKITE® collection is a considerable departure from the look and feel for which Zodiaq® is currently known.  The nine intricately marbled quartz colors range from rich terra cotta to deep lapis lazuli, blending the latest in Italian design with the elegance of stone.  A pure white and black-gold fusion are also being added to the palette.

“We search the globe to find materials on the cutting edge of what architects and designers are seeking right now,” said Dembek.  “These colors bring an exoticism designed to turn buildings into conversation pieces.”
